Dear Members and Friends of the Wayne E. Oates Institute,
This year we are celebrating 15 years of service. I am grateful for your support of this work. Without your leadership and financial contributions, we would not have reached this anniversary. Donor contributions underwrite the work of the Institute. With your help, in 2008 we have already accomplished the following: - We have offered 35 online seminars and had strong seminar participation.
- 25 trained professionals have given their time to facilitate our online seminars.
- We partnered with the Ray and Ann Spence Network (RASNET) to create, Ministry in the New World Matrix: Leading the Five Generation Church in the Digital Age and 14 pastors participated in this 3-month program.
- 5 individuals completed the Pauline Oates Pastoral Care Specialist Certificate Program (A 6-month program).
- In response to the Chief of Chaplain's concern for the spiritual resiliency of military chaplains supporting troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, we developed the 3-month program, Self Care for Army Chaplains. 6 Chaplains participated in this program, 5 of whom had already served in Afghanistan, Iraq or Kuwait .
- 62 individuals participated in our successful Spring Forum on Healing.
- We have supported members from 38 states and 10 countries.
- We are currently involved in a tri-continental collaboration with The Centre for Spirituality, Health and Disability (in Aberdeen, Scotland), and The Centre for Ageing & Pastoral Studies (in Canberra, Australia) to jointly offer our November online conference on Age-ing.
In spite of this great news about our programs, we have to ensure adequate funding for this work. While all program participants pay a fee, we cannot afford to offer these resources without contributions to underwrite this work.
Your faithful investment in the Oates Institute is not only a part of our legacy, but it is a part of your legacy and it sustains this important work. Thank you.
Gratefully,
Vicki L. Hollon Executive Director Make A Contribution
