Since 1993 the Wayne E. Oates Institute has addressed an important and unique need for professional and lay caregivers to learn from each other and give care to the whole person; body, mind, and spirit. We have done this through education, publication, and research. In 1998, we expanded our facilities and developed our resources on the World Wide Web and extended our program offerings to include online learning and publishing.

The Oates Institute’s Online Campus has grown steadily since then, allowing professionals in multiple disciplines throughout the world to learn from each other in ways that fit their schedule. In 2001, the Online Learning Center was added to enhance access to online learning resources and the hosting of online conferences.

The Online Learning Center increased in significance as part of the online campus when we started holding year round online seminars and Self-Study Learning Modules. In 2006 we expanded the online campus again with the addition of another major facility, the Center for Oates Studies.

The Online Learning Center (OLC) is the facility where 35 to 50 online seminars are held each year and information about upcoming learning opportunities is available.

The OLC houses the:

• Pauline Oates Pastoral Care Specialist Certificate
• Health Ministries Certificate
• Lifelong Learning @ Oates.Org eNewsletter
• Self-Study Learning Modules
• Forums on Healing, conference presentations, and other educational resources

The Online Learning Center is utilized by other organizations as a conference facility as we help them host various online learning activities.

The Center for Oates Studies (COS) is the most recent addition to our campus and like all of our facilities, it is constantly being expanded.

The COS features the:

• Wayne E. Oates Library Collection, the online edition of books by Wayne Oates that have been republished by the Oates Institute
• Wayne Oates Legacy pages
• Wayne Oates' writings, personal papers, interviews, class notes, lectures, and photographs
• Annual Oates Award presentations

The Center for Oates Studies provides a place for those doing research in Psychology of Religion utilizing Wayne Oates’ body of work, to publish and advance that legacy to address the needs of the 21st century.

The Oates Journal is a professional publication of the Wayne E. Oates Institute that addresses issues related to spirituality and health. Current Oates Journal articles are available to members and guests. Archived articles are only available to WEOI members.

The Oates Institute’s Online Bookstore provides the opportunity to purchase:

• Books by Wayne Oates that have been republished by the Oates Institute
• Select books related to health, healing, spirituality, pastoral care, and counseling

Since the Oates Institute is an Amazon affiliate, any book carried by Amazon may be ordered through our bookstore.

The Online Art Gallery
features various art exhibits that convey a message about spirituality, health, and healing.
