The 2016 Oates Award Banquet

On October 13, the Oates Institute and the Long Run Baptist Association will present the 2016 Oates Award to Rev. Dr. William P. Tuck.
We will be celebrating the life and work of William P. Tuck. William Powell Tuck has served as pastor in Virginia, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Louisiana and was Professor of Preaching at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He has written more than two hundred articles for professional or scholarly journals and is the author or editor of sixteen books, including the Compelling Faces of Jesus, Knowing God: Religious Knowledge in the Theology of John Baillie, and The Meaning of the Ten Commandments Today. Tuck will present a speech on “The Struggle for Meaning.”
Our program for the Oates Award Banquet and Annual Event will begin at 6:00 pm on October 13, with a reception followed by dinner at 6:30 pm and the program thereafter.
The site for this year’s Oates Award Banquet is St, Matthews Baptist Church. (This is a new venue for the Oates Award Banquet). The address is 3515 Grandview, Louisville, Kentucky, 40207. The church is noted for its stunning windows and large facility. The meal will be catered by Gracious Plenty.
The cost for the event is $35 in advance and $40 at the door.
