2018 Oates Award Banquet

The Oates Institute honored Dr. E. Glenn Hinson as the 2018 Wayne E. Oates Award Recipient in its annual Awards Banquet Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the Crescent Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall at 2200 Frankfort Avenue in Louisville.

Hinson was honored for his outstanding scholarship, teaching, mentoring, and leadership in promoting spirituality and drawing on the Christian Classics.  Hinson was a colleague of Wayne Oates at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for 30 years, and he taught at Richmond Theological Seminary, Baptist Seminary of Kentucky, Candler School of Theology, Louisville Presbyterian Seminary, and Lexington Theological Seminary. He has authored and edited 29 books and over a thousand articles and book reviews. Currently, Dr. Hinson is retired and continues attend and teach at the Crescent Hill Baptist Church.  His presentation is titled: “Attentiveness to God in All of Life”.
