Registration Open for May’s Symposium on the Opioid Crisis
The Oates Institute is proud to announce our May Symposium – “Addressing the Opioid Crisis: Integrative Medicine & Spiritual Care Implications” – a two-week course worth 20 continuing education units that will be taught over 10-13 interactive online webinars, plus discussion forum reflection and interaction. The numbers are startling – 116 people die every day from opioid-related drug overdoes. 5 million people misuse prescription opioids. How did we get to this place? What do we need to know? What can be done?

What: Online Symposium: “Addressing the Opioid Addiction Crisis: Prevention, Treatment, and Recovery”
For: Spiritual Caregivers, Chaplains, Clergy, Addiction Practitioners, Medical Professionals, Other interested persons
How: 10 – 13, one hour Live Presentations by Adobe Connect over a two-week period – Each presenter would provide a paper and or power point on a specific issue related to this problem with time for Q and A. In addition to the live presentations, there will be a collaborative learning discussion about the topic and the presentations via the Oates Institute learning platform. All sessions will be recorded for review if session missed. Professional Chaplains who participate in the entire program can earn 20 hours of Continuing Education Credit. Capacity is 150 spots.
