How can care givers best help children cope when a family member is seriously ill? This presentation will focus on how to facilitate, understand and respond to children’s age appropriate responses. Some simple techniques for keeping families connected will also be provided.
Amy oversees all of the services provided through the Grief Counseling Center and supervises a talented and creative staff. Amy also provides direction and consultation for child and adolescent support in active patient care and bereavement throughout the organization, a 33 county service area. In addition to Hospice work, Amy provides community education, bereavement and crisis intervention for the Louisville area and oversees Grief Relief, a school based grief counseling program. She is a licensed art therapist and holds a certification in thanatology.
