Part 1

This 90 minute workshop will provide a brief overview of IFS and polyvagal theory as applicable to the film Encanto. We will explore themes of trauma, resiliency, interpersonal relationality, and prosody as a glimpse into the therapeutic relationship.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe salient features of IFS
  • Review the hierarchy of the human threat response through the lens of PVT
  • Recognize connections between prosody and PVT

Part 2

“Conversations and Consultation: Internal Family Systems”

This 90-minute conversation is an opportunity to ask questions about IFS as a therapy model and/or spiritual practice and to offer cases for consultation.  If you would like to offer a case, please prepare a brief summary of the clients context, current goal, and an overview of the therapeutic relationship and challenges. In preparation for this conversation, please view videos offered by the Oates Institute of past workshops with Rev. Dr. Baldwin.

Date: March 31st, 7 pm EST

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain clarity of the dynamics of Internal Family Systems
  • Discuss points of interest
  • Review cases for clinician support

Bio: Rev. Dr. Jennifer Baldwin is a certified Internal Family Systems therapist and approved supervisor for the IFS Institute. She is a clinician and constructive theologian in private practice specializing in trauma care and resiliency. She is the author or editor of seven books including Trauma Sensitive Theology (2018) and Through Dangerous Terrain (2020).

12 CEU if all requirements are completed.
