Description
Amy Smith, BCC, Concord, Connecticut.
The art of helping another prepare for death goes beyond assisting with advanced directives. In this presentation, Chaplain Smith will lead participants to consider practical ways to empower dying persons and their families to create comfort and find or enhance meaning. Exploring open-ended questions, facilitating positive sensory experiences, creating ritual, and identifying sacred objects are some of the techniques Amy will help participants explore as they prepare themselves to guide others to mark their final days and weeks as sacred time. These can be used in any environment (home, skilled nursing facility, or hospital) by spiritual counselors and clients of every background.
