May 2016 Events
A couple of events are coming up, and we wanted to be sure you know about them:
Online Movie Screening: “States of Grace: A Journey of Loss, Resilience, and Renewal”
May 10-19: we are invited to screen the film
May 19, 7pm (EDT-USA) Q&A with producers
The is the best movie I have seen on the resiliency of the human spirit. There are only a few days left to view the movie and participate in a live conversation with the makers of the movie.
“States of Grace” is an award-winning documentary about international AIDS activist Dr. Grace Hammann and her hard-won recovery from a near-fatal auto accident. You can view the trailer HERE. Registration for this event is handled with a letter of intent to firstname.lastname@example.org. We are asking for a small donation to defray costs of $10 for members and $20 for non-members, but no-one will be excluded. Donate now.
Mindfulness and Compassion–An Online presentation by Venerable Thubten Chodron
Last December I contacted the Dalai Lama about doing a live presentation on mindfulness practices. He referred us to Thubten Chodron here in the states and highly recommended her. This is rare opportunity for members and friends. Please join us.
May 24 at 7 pm (EDT-USA)
Mindfulness is much more than bare awareness of the present moment. It’s a valuable practice to help us nurture our good qualities and fulfill our human potential. Join Venerable Thubten Chodron as she gives clear and practical tips on how to transform our minds in order to be of benefit to others.
Venerable Thubten Chodron is a Buddist nun and renowned author, teacher, and speaker. Registration for this event is simple, just send an email to email@example.com. We do ask for a small donation of $10 for members and $20 for non-members to help defray the costs of the presentation. Donate Now.
Finally, a word to all on our recent Symposium on Mindfulness and Spirituality. We had a very successful online symposium with 18 participants enjoying live presentations and Q & A with outstanding presenters including Father Richard Rohr, Dr. Peter Buecker, Father Joseph Mitchell, Dr. Glenn Hinson, Dr. Eric McCollum, and Chaplain Tenzin Kiyosaki.
These presentations will be made available for review with the possibility of earning CEUs. Thanks to all who made this a wonderful trans-formative and collaborative learning experience. In our quest to provide the best learning events possible, we invite your feedback as how we can continue to improve. Send such feedback to firstname.lastname@example.org.
